Falkirk/Callander top club at 40th TTA national Taekwondo Championship

A Fantastic day had by all at the 40th TTA national championships held in Glasgow and hosted by Grandmaster TK Loh the head of the Traditional Taekwondo Association.

Falkirk and Callander club won! the championship trophy and were the top team at the event. Thanks to all competitors and parents for supporting our squad. A great achievement for the club! Well done to all our students for your tenacity drive and bravery! We won 8 Golds 3 Silver and 1 Bronze medal on the day.

A big thanks to our coaches on the day William Ferguson, Duncan Irvine and Angus Young senior.

For the female Adult 2nd Dan Eva Morrison won Silver in the sparring and also competed in the patterns event. Eva’s sister Ellis also competed in both events and won Silver for patterns and Bronze for sparring. This was Ellis’s first sparring event she will grow stronger from the experience.

For the patterns the cadet/children event brothers Charlie and Callum Marr both won Gold. Callum also won gold in sparring in his first competition to make it 4 medals Charlie won Silver in sparring. Both Charlie and Callum were also in the top 10 competitors list for the event.

Also Faye Burns, Arlo Cathro-Brown and Steven Peddie competed in the patterns but missed out in the medals this time.

In the Cadet male category Luke smith and Lee Skelsey won Gold medals in their weight categories.

In the Junior event we won 3 Golds Ross Duff, Arlo Cathro-Brown and Angus Young winning some tough fights on the day.

To add icing on the cake 4 of our students passed their 1st Dan Gradings this year Tom Nicols, Faye Burns, Arlo Cathro-Brown and Ross Duff.
